We sailed around the world in a 35 foot sailing yacht, are happily married and run our business from a sailing yacht at the Bear Point Marina in Orange Beach, Alabama.
Our present sailing yacht is a one-off 38 footer named "Ethereal Virtue". This very special boat was built in 1978 at the Cookson Yard in Auckland, New Zealand of triple-diagonal cold-molded kauri wood with closely spaced stringers. She is design no. 79 from the office of Bruce Farr. This design was essentially a development of Farr’s successful 1977 World One-Ton Championship winning design no. 64, with more emphasis on light weather performance. The rig is twin spreader, 4/5th proportion with large mainsail, high aspect ratio foretriangle and running backstays. Her dimensions are roughly: 38ft length, 13ft beam, and 7ft draft. Her mast reaches 48ft off the deck, her displacement is approximately 4 tons and she goes like a scalded dog.
